At APS UK Ltd we specialise in the design and installation of materials handling and dust extraction systems. We also do full aftercare, with our own certified engineers for servicing and testing of LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) systems, and provide spare/replacement parts for systems.
As Britain went into lockdown to help reduce the spread and impact of Covid-19, certain critical businesses remained open to manufacture vital products. APS UK is proud to have been able to support those businesses by helping supply spare parts, maintain extraction systems, and install dust extraction systems to essential businesses, which when complete will provide protection to the system operators.
With the safety of our employees and customers a priority, these installs were an extra challenge to ensure the system could be installed as safely as possibly. In order to achieve this it is vital we had good communication with the customer, followed our Covid-19 Risk and Method Statement, and ensured correct usage of PPE whilst adhering to social distancing and hygiene measures.
Each dust extraction system removes airborne dust that is created during the manufacturing process. This, therefore, protects the operators and other personnel, but also protects the machinery from premature breakdowns and provides a cleaner working environment.
Our installations were carried out with minimal impact on the current processes of our customers in order to ensure that they could continue manufacturing to their maximum capability.
LEV systems are important for the health of employees. Throughout lockdown critical businesses remained open with careful controls in place, with more businesses now reopening, Government instructions are that LEV must continue to be used, kept in an effective condition and that statutory inspection of dust and fume extraction equipment has not been suspended. As such we are still going to sites to help keep them properly maintained and tested.
